Book: The Cartoons That Shook the World
November 1, 2009
A new book is out on the Danish cartoons depicting the Prophet by a Dane called The Cartoons That Shook the World. The book reveals the lack of a blanket ban on depiction of the Prophet, and that the spread of dossier of cartoons (some unpublished in the Danish newspaper) by Danish Imams to Egypt contributed to widespread uproar. Yale University Press did not allow the author Jytte Klausen to republish the cartoons in her book, which says something about how presses regard reception from the Muslim public.
